Preparation 10 minutes

Personal Notes – It is a raw, healthy, tasty, guilt-free snack full of goodness. My best friend gave me the recipe. It’s great for people who have dietary restrictions; here is a simple, affordable and fast, tasty treat.

Tips – You can add goji berries, honey and replace the water for coconut oil if you wish. If you want to eat these treats straight away, place in freezer for 10 minutes then serve with a nice cup of tea. Great snack for lunchboxes.

  • 1 cup raw almonds (or cashews)
  • 1 cup of fresh dates, halved and pitted
  • ¼ cup of LSA (linseed, sunflower seed and almond) mix
  • 1 tablespoon raw cocoa powder
  • 1 small pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup of water
  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut

  1. Blend almonds in blender until smooth.
  2. Chop dates in half and pit, add them to the blender with the almonds. Add the LSA mix, the raw cocoa powder and salt.
  3. Blend all ingredients (you may need to hold onto the lid and shake the container to mix it) and pour the mixture into large bowl.
  4. Add the water to the mixture and mix with spoon.
  5. Pour the desiccated coconut onto a plate or chopping board.
  6. Roll mixture into bite size balls and then roll into the coconut before putting on a plate. Refrigerate for an hour to set.
